New Year, New Fun!

It's been a busy holiday season for me, but not without time for scrapbooking.  In fact, I just finished a custom 18"x18" scrapbook for a client that took weeks to complete but was well worth the effort.  It was a holiday gift for her family and she just loved it!

I am also very excited about the new Idea Book released by Close To My Heart!!  The new book goes "live" to customers in February but just say the word and I can get a copy to you in the mail in January for a sneak peek!  Not only are there stunning new paper collections and adorable embellishments, but my children are featured in the book!  How cool is that!?!

Fun for December!

It's the last month of the year and boy has 2011 been a fast one!  I feel like I've gotten a lot done with the "renovation" of my craft room, the restart of my Close To My Heart business and enjoyment of all this company has to offer.  December promises to be full of creativity, family, fun and more -- I plan to capture it all with my camera and scrapbook the memories (what else?!).

Hubby Scraps!

Well, today I had a scrapbook workshop scheduled at my home and at the last minute I had several cancellations.  I think hubby felt bad that my guest list had dwindled so he did the sweetest thing -- he showed up at the door with photos in hand pretending to be a workshop participant!  After I hugged him and thanked him for being the sweetest guy ever, he kept with the charade and really wanted me to sit down and help him learn how to scrapbook his photos.  Surprisingly, he REALLY got into it!  Here are the pics to prove it ~ now I'll have my own pictures to make into a layout!

Holiday cards

Once November arrives, I always think of how the end of the year will fly right on by!  Those last weeks usually include sending some sort of holiday greeting and sometimes they're handcrafted.  I thought I'd share a few recent cards to spark some creativity.  Enjoy!

 The above card was made with the "Roxie" paper pack and coordinating embellishments.

 This thank-you card was made using "Dreamin'" paper, clear and wooden buttons and waxy flax.

I used one of my favorite paper collections to make this card.  It's "Wonderland" and combines non-traditional winter colors, chocolate and blue.  A bling brad tops the striped grosgrain ribbon.

 This baby card is made on the clear card set with "Elemental" paper.  Very different!

For this card, I used the circular die-cut cards, "Sonoma" paper, and lots of stamping!

Art inspires art!

If you follow pop culture or music in any way, you might be aware that singer superstar, Beyonce, has released a new album this week entitled "4".  I am a HUGE Beyonce fan and was one of the first in line at Target on Tuesday when the album was released (no, I didn't download it from iTunes because Target offered an exclusive extended version of the album).  It does not disappoint and I have a neat collection of new favorite songs -- one of my favorite things in the world is to hear how someone has placed musical notes together to form a completely new song just like the way a child might assemble something completely new with the same Legos each time.  I've got new tunes to dance to, sing along with, and now scrapbook with!  Music has a way of influencing one's moods and I'm excited to see what creations this new upbeat, but ballad-rich collection will inspire in my scrapbooking art.  What music do you listen to when you're creative?
